Fun Ways to Develop Intuitively

There is a Universal energy that permeates all beings, and indeed all objects, in our realm – we call it life. Everything and Everyone vibrates and has a specific frequency that works as a point of attraction and integration for your world. Our Higher Self is connected to Source/Spirit always and continuously calls you home to your highest life path via a ‘sixth sense’. Your intuition. What a gift to your real-world experience to be able to tap into this streamlined guidance and receive messages, downloads and direction to make your life much easier and straightforward.

Your intuition can connect directly to Source, Spirit Guides, Angels, Ascended Masters or Ancestors as you prefer. And off course directly with your Higher Self – the part of your Soul that never actually leaves Source. So, there are these various roads to the answers that you can take. It all starts with expanding our awareness of Spirit and strengthening our connection with it in whichever way works best for you. There are no rights or wrongs, it’s all just a matter of practise, staying open to what may come through and removing interference from the ego and mind as much as possible.

Having said all the above, it doesn’t mean it can’t be experienced and practised as ‘play’ instead of ‘work’. I mean, this life is complex for us humans enough.

Below are some fine-tuned play tips to develop your intuition…

Be surrounded by Nature - Nature grows organically. Fertility and Presence are just part of Natures daily abundance and being around this magic activates the same qualities in you! (also not to mention the negative ions clearing your auric energy field and assisting to balance your chakras). If you can do this daily, that is perfect, if not, then making a connection with nature part of your weekly routine is the next best step. It will greatly aid your ability to be mentally and emotionally present, to lower your levels of stress hormones, balance your mental wellbeing and will raise your experience of regular relaxation.

Spend time with Animals - Animals live completely present in the moment and are authentic with their self-expression. Being in the company of present beings often facilitates this quality within you and creates stillness and focus of the mind. Animals encourage disconnecting you from endless driving thoughts and brings us back into the body and heart space. This creates room for the intuition to be heard and ‘speak’ to you. If you don’t have an animal yourself you could pet sit, offer to walk your friend’s dog or visit an animal shelter and spend time being kind to the animals there (that would also be an amazing positive influence on your karma!) The key is to ‘listen’ to the animal and be completely present with them – you can definitely do things (play ball or give them a scratch) but focus on being there for them and giving of your energy. Animals give much more then they regularly receive so your being conscious of giving to them allows you to step into a strong flow state as the energy moves back and forth between you while developing your skill of being present.

Fake it till you make it! Pretend you can ‘sense things’ - let’s play a game. I call it ‘I’m actually highly intuitive and just never realised it game’ lol The game lasts for 10 minutes to start, then as you get the hang of it you can extend the time to 15, 20 or 30 minutes as you like. To play you pretend you know things via a psychic connection to Spirit (or your Guides/Angels) and either speak or write about your inner-knowings as they come up. You may ‘just know’, get physical sensations, hear words or receive images. The main rules of this game is that

1.    nothing is taken too seriously (it’s a game)

2.    you must stay in a state of suspension of disbelief (anything is possible)

3.    you have fun

It’s a great idea to keep a journal for a month on what comes through for you during this game and check back in at a later date (say 2-3s month later) to see where life landed in regard to what you were receiving. You could do this one alone, with a friend, or even at a party.

Ask Spirit to send you help via signs - ask for anything that you feel connected to! Is it a particular flower, a type of car, your favourite animal? A sign can be sent from Spirit to show that you’re not alone and support is present, that a path is the best current choice or to affirm your abundance potential. Don’t worry about the form it will take - Spirit is amazingly creative! You can be as specific or general as you like. Once I asked for a bee to land on my finger and sit with me as a sign that I had reached a flow state of manifestation. A few days later I was outside sweeping up leaves. I paused for a second and along came a bee, flying slowly, and landed on my finger. It sat there just long enough (about 30 seconds) for me to realize this was Spirit fulfilling my request then quietly flew away. It was the perfect moment.

Affirm daily an intuition-supportive statement - such as ‘my intuition is strong and leads me every day to ever greater insights’ or ‘my unique intuition always brings me success’. Writing affirmations is a great tool (especially in the mornings) however saying them out loud really speeds their progress (just 5 minutes in the morning with a range of affirmations would do wonders!). You can also write them out on post-it notes and place them on your bathroom mirror or study wall so they become an integrated part of your routine.

Bring your mind into a state of stillness - try meditation (guided or breath focused, both are good). Alternatively try a moving-meditation where you go for a walk while observing what’s going on around you and the sensations of your physical body, this is also a state of stillness that works well.

Resting the body and being in a receptive state while allowing the mind to wander without a clear direction or purpose can often facilitate answers from Spirit to be received. Off Course, this works best if the mind is not working through a state of worry or anxiety. You would need to leave your daily preoccupations at the door.
